Spent a great week in Chiredzi with Gerald and Debbie Pallister who has been the headmaster of Chiredzi Primary School for many years. Besides doing the individual photographs at the school Gerald and I went around photographing the stunning Baobab trees and a sugar cane burn.So incredible to watch and frightening to see the speed the fire spreads and experience that intense heat. I now have huge respect for the guys who work in these cane fields. I returned to the UK last week and it is great to be back with my family.
Travelled from Harare to Chiredzi today to do individual, class and team photos at Hippo Valley and Murray Mac as well as some nursery schools. We have been doing the school photography in the Lowveld since the early 80’s. Great time of the year to be here as it is not so hot.
Great to be back in Zimbabwe. Travelling around the country doing school photography and although it is winter the days are wonderfully warm and sunny and the sky light blue and cloudless. The veld is dry but is still beautiful with the long, golden grass. Will post some photos soon.
